"Lotus Eater" explores the absurdity of sexual objectification. The lotus in place of the figures' head pokes fun at the viewers' inclination to reduce the subject to nothing more than their sexuality. By depicting the depersonalization and disembodiment that comes with existing in a queer, Asian, feminine body, "Lotus Eater" highlights the humor that emerges as a way to cope with these feelings.
